The territory of the municipality of Marciana Marina is an enclave in the territory of the municipality of Marciana, a town that began as a refuge for fishermen and sailors on a large beach that ran from Cotone to Moletto del pesce and beyond, reaching as far as the houses on the waterfront and of which today some shreds remain and a name that reminds us that before the port and gardens were built, it was on that beach that boats were hauled and launched: scali Mazzini.
