In 2018 the Pro Loco was reconstituted, which brings together people from different professions and backgrounds but who share the same goal, the enhancement of the country, have created a team to put on social and cultural initiatives and musical events to enliven the country, all year round.

Over the years, many initiatives have been organized included in an almost daily summer calendar of events: sports events, shows, theater, music and dance. Initiatives for the youngest with street artists, cultural events, exhibitions and expositions, meetings with artists and authors of national and international fame.

Much space is also given to projects by associations and volunteers, with some charity initiatives.

Some events have become annual fixtures, starting with literary awards such as the Premio La Torre and the evenings of the “La Classica al Cotone” concert series.

The common thread running through all cultural events is the island of Elba and the heritage of Marciana Marina, celebrated in all its beauty by great artists and writers, from ancient times to the present day. The goal is to share and revive local traditions—not only for tourists but also for younger generations—starting with maritime history and shipbuilding, traditional crafts, and winemaking culture.
